Our School
Chilton Christian Academy was founded as a ministry of Victory Baptist Church of Jemison. Since its founding in 1977 the emphasis has encouraged and influenced young lives to honor the Lord Jesus Christ in their pursuit of contributing to the well-being of society. Students are taught to share Christ and His teachings while fulfilling the calling the Lord has placed on their life.

Spiritual Awakening and Development
Our desire is for every student to know and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. Our emphasis upon Biblical teachings is just as important as our academic teachings. Daniel Webster, who served as a U.S. Representative and as Secretary of the State under three Presidents in the early 1800’s, stated this when he said, “Education is useless without the Bible.”
Moral Values and Integrity
Our commitment to the teachings of Christ is to prayerfully develop Christian character in the thinking and resulting actions of our students. George Washington, our nation’s First President and The Father of Our Country, stated this desire for our citizenry when he said, “While we are zealously performing the duties of good citizens and soldiers, we certainly ought not to be inattentive to the higher duties of religion. To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian.”

Our devotion to academic excellence leads us to properly equip each student academically to pursue a life that allows them to use their talents and calling to the benefit of our society.

The mission of Chilton Christian Academy is to provide a Christ-centered education to promote Biblical values, encourage children’s individual responsibility from God for actions, and challenge them to glorify God in all facets of life and learning.
Philosophy of Christian Education

As education may be defined as making knowledge available and philosophy may be defined as loving wisdom (Archilla, 2014), a philosophy of Christian Education may be articulated as making the love of knowledge and wisdom available through a Biblical World View. A philosophy of Christian education for Chilton Christian Academy includes augmenting the skills held by individual learners, developing the capacities of the learner and instructor for success through quality curriculum and learning motivations, creating a safe environment for learning, developing a collaborative spirit between all stakeholders, holding to high standards of integrity and equity for all, learning the art of critical thinking and application of knowledge, acquiring and improving communication skills through interpersonal associations and technology, as well as expanding and immersing the love of Scripture into students’ everyday lives for a maturity in applying God’s Word now and in their future.
Creating the desire to become a life-long learner and fusing all subjects to support each other through a Biblical World View are paramount for inclusion in a Christian philosophy of education. The use of a variety of approaches and manipulatives, the inclusion of the classical thought of teaching the basics (grammar), how those basics come together to begin reasoning (logic), and how to articulate what has been learned (rhetoric) all work together within Scripture to instill a Biblical world view. A philosophy may not elaborate on a specific technique for learning, but it gives the opportunity to encourage and augment the abilities of each student to ignite the spark of continuous learning needed to step into the workforce, become a productive citizen, and develop their own philosophy of what education should encapsulate always pointing back to the Creator. Working through the ideals of the individual worth of each student with a quality curriculum and motivations within a safe environment develops a collaborative spirit to take into the future. Holding to high standards of integrity and accenting interpersonal and communication skills should carry the learner into the diverse world with confidence.
Every student has various capabilities and learns differently. It is the task of the instructor to find where each student begins and challenge them to rise to their highest potential. Connecting a Biblical World view to the learners’ experiences also helps to find a commonality for references that may fuel curiosity. Our mission is not to just impart knowledge but is to help build the tools the learner needs to go forward without supervision and guidance to become a life- long learner grounded in God’s Word.

Our purpose is to teach Christ through His Word, the Bible, in practical ways as well as inclusion in all curriculum used for instruction for academic excellence, spiritual growth, physical and mental health, and good citizenship within the school, community, and nation.

A Biblical viewpoint in the vital areas of spiritual growth, education, personal self-discipline and patriotism is strongly stressed to each child during their years of instruction. We desire to minister to the needs of the whole child by promoting their spiritual and moral growth as well as their academic and intellectual progress and physical and social development.
